A teenage girl whose identity was not revealed by the Ogun State Police Command has been reportedly r@p3d after getting herself drunk during a Church anniversary celebration.
It was gathered that the 16-year-old girl was d3f!l€d by one Gbenga Kolawole, who is now in police custody.
In a statement made available to Journalists on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer in Ogun, Omolola Odutola, said the victim’s mother had reported to the police that her daughter who got drunk during their church’s (name withheld) anniversary celebration on the 6th of November 2023 in Adubi Ogun State was r@ped.
The police spokesperson quoted the mother to have said that she had taken her daughter to a nearby bar shop and locked her there.
Unfortunately for her, the young girl became a victim of Kolawole, a 32-year-old man who had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.
Odutola stated Kolawole was caught in the act by one Sunday Ibrahim of the same address.
“The victim has been taken to Ore Ofe Hospital for medical attention and treatment while the suspect has been arrested for preliminary investigation,” the police spokesperson said
