The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, has reportedly ordered the immediate transfer of the murder allegation case levelled against a UNILAG student, Chidinma Ojukwu to Abuja.
DAILY GIST reports that The Lagos State Police Command hade arrested Chidinma for allegedly killing the Chief Executive Officer, Super TV, Usifo Ataga, in the Lekki area of the state.
It was also gathered that the prime murder suspect, Chidinma Ojukwu, 21, would be taken to Abuja too.
According to reports, The IGP has handed the case over to Force Criminal Investigation Department for further probe and prosecution.
While being paraded by the police, Chidinma had said she killed while he was trying to force himself on her.
Chidinma said she had been in a romantic relationship with Ataga for about four months before the ugly incident.
Chidinma while addressing Journalists said she and Ataga were “having fun” when an argument broke out and she stabbed him twice.
She had sought forgiveness, saying she did not want to die.
“I regret killing Mr Ataga. I don’t know what my future holds but I don’t want to die. Please, I don’t want to die because of this case. I have not killed before.”
“I totally regret everything I did and I am sorry. Mr Ataga’s family, I am deeply sorry for what I did. If I had my life back, I wouldn’t do anything like that. I am deeply sorry and I hope you forgive me,” Chidinma had said at the time.
Usifo, aged 50, was buried on July 30 in a low-key ceremony attended by his family members, including his wife, and friends
